Alright so this is the last post in this little online friendship series. Writing these posts has been fun and honestly a little therapeutic for me haha. This last post is about how we hang out.
So, we have all mentioned in previous posts I met the girls on Twitter. Hanging out through social media is actually easier than it might seem. Back when we first started talking we would all stay up late and talk for hours or have movie nights which is just like having movie nights with people in person but you have to type what you want to say instead of just saying it aloud. Which is also kind of nice because you aren’t interrupting the show so someone can’t hear it but you still get to chat. We would all try to watch the same episode of Reba at the same time. Everyone sitting there and then trying to press play at the same time. Not incredibly easy but we made it work. Now that life is a little more busy we don’t have movie/Reba nights anymore but Alison and I still chat usually a couple of times a week on an app called Viber. I know Morgan and Alison have skyped quite a few times and I have skyped once with Alison and a couple of times with Morgan but I am an awkward human and I prefer to just text instead of Skype.
I have hung out with Morgan a few times in person. The first time was for my eighteenth birthday. My parents packed up the car and drove eight hours with me to meet this person I that had been my best friend for two years. When we arrived she had made me a birthday cake and we stayed up until six in the morning watching Reba, eating Oreos and taking a bunch of pictures. That weekend we also drove out to the radio station that we both listened to, to take our favourite radio DJ some birthday cookies and she talked about mine and Morgan’s friendship on air which was pretty cool. Then around Easter in 2015 Morgan came to stay at my house for a week. We watched Grey’s, walked some trails and did a little shopping. The last time I hung out with Morgan was at Big Valley Jamboree in 2015 with two of our other online friends, Jazz and Jac. Reba was the closer on the first night, which happened to be my birthday so that was super cool. I have a lot of great memories from that weekend.
I have not met Alison in person but I am still hoping that one day we are able to do that. I really need to work on getting a passport. I imagine we would do normal things like shopping or watching shows if we ever get the chance to meet up. Or maybe we can one day work it out so we can go to a Reba concert together. That would be really lovely but for now it’s just texting between Ali and I which is better than nothing.
We don’t talk/ hang out near as much as we used to because sadly life gets busy and you have a bunch of responsibilities as you grow up but it is nice when we do get the chance to chat. I love these two girls and all the memories we have. I am very thankful for these two and the lasting impressions they have left in my life. I wish both of them happiness and success in their lives.
