A lot of really awesome things happened for you this year, but you didn’t really stop and take a minute to soak it all in. It all kind of just happened, and don’t get me wrong, it was good, but none of it feels real. It all feels like you went to sleep on December 31st and didn’t wake up.
You started off the year with someone you don’t know what you’d ever do without, who loves you very, very much and constantly makes you look at things differently. You reconnected with some old friends from high school. You bought a car. You had a surgery that changed your life for the better. You got a new job. You’re writing for this awesome blog for your awesome friend. It happened. It all happened. So, why doesn’t any of it feel real?
Is it because you didn’t let yourself get excited with each new thing that came along? Did being afraid that none of this was going to last change how you feel about things now?
I don’t know, but here’s your New Year’s resolution, and I want you to stick to this one, going back to your very first post about living authentically, “just be.” I want you to just be. Be present. You’re allowed to feel, you’re allowed to be afraid, you’re allowed to be Morgan, whoever Morgan might be now.
Good luck out there next year. I’m proud of what you’ve accomplished so far, now you need to be proud of what you accomplish. In the moment. In the now. I love you.
