Hi guys! Welcome back to the blog! I’m so happy you’re here! Now, I had a different post in mind that I had originally wanted to put up today on the blog that commemorated a season of life that had a huge impact on my life, and I may do that someday, but that season is still just freshly ended and does involve a workplace so I have decided it best not to write about that right now. Maybe someday down the road I can relive those days and reminisce about that time in my life with you all.
Instead, for now, I have chosen to do a post that I attempted to do back in February but only half-heartedly put together just to get new content up and have chosen now to revisit it. Today’s post is going to be a list of 21 quotes that I have selected from my massive amount of quotes saved on my Pinterest boards. But instead of quotes from just three categories like I did last time – Authenticity, Inspirational, and Blogging (?) – I picked quotes from almost all of my quote boards. (A daunting task considering some of my boards have 100s of quotes. Okay, maybe that’s exaggerating just a little bit… But you know what I mean.) Anyway, it was super fun picking quotes, but also a little scary because some of those quotes I feel like are so very honest that I wasn’t sure if I wanted to share them at all. But for the sake of being transparent and honest as is the theme of this blog I sprinkled a couple of those super honest quotes for you guys.
So it took me like a whole day to pick all of my quotes, but I finally settled on the twenty-one, that will be featured on the blog today, and downloaded them before sitting down to work. Now, I couldn’t just download them and upload them to the blog the way they were, no way, I mean most of them are great just the way they are but I wanted to add my own spin to them. So I chose a new picture for each quote and styled it just the way I liked it, to give it a new look and to show you all what I see when I read each quote. One of my favorite things about running my little blog is being able to add visual elements that help tell the story that I’m trying to tell or help you feel or understand the emotion behind whatever it may be that I’m writing about. It’s the same thing with putting together a list of quotes, it’s one thing to compile a list and post it, but it’s another thing to help someone else grasp the “why” behind the quotes.
I really enjoyed creating each image so I hope you love them as much as I do and feel free to share them, but just give credit for them, please! I tried my best to give credit to where each quote from but a lot of them didn’t have a source listed. Like I said, they’re all from my Pinterest page so feel free to look there and see for yourself! Also, most of the pictures come from the website unsplash.com (this post is in no way sponsored) which is a website with free use of photos so you can also browse through that website to find the originals of these amazing pictures! Maybe next time I’ll write a post about how I created some of these pictures? I tried to do that this time, but I kept running out of time and I couldn’t figure out the best way to take a video of my editing process yet. So that’ll definitely be a post I’ll try to do in the future for you guys!
Anyway, enough rambling, let’s jump right into the quotes that I’ve picked for today!
As someone who’s dabbled in the book writing world, this quote is super inspiring to me! I was in a high school writing class when I had gotten the assignment to write a short story. Not an unusual assignment for a writing class, I know, but I ended up writing a short story that lives on in a full-blown book series plot (which I have yet to finish) and this quote inspires me to keep working on it and writing it!
I don’t know exactly where this quote officially comes from but I did get this from a Heather Stillufsen pin on Pinterest. I’m very passionate about a lot of things at different times – music, writing, blogging, etc. – and I just love this quote!
Okay, so I find this SO true because if you know me in “real” life I’m usually pretty quiet with the off chance that if you know me very well I never shut up. But I find writing the perfect way to say what I want to say but somehow never find enough courage to say it. Writing for me is like air, on a good day, it comes naturally and effortlessly.
This quote comes from my authenticity board on Pinterest. This one paint such a pretty picture! One that is extremely vulnerable but breathtaking at the same time. Back when I came up with this blog, I was going through this same thing of removing all of my masks and putting on my soul. So for me, it really rings true!
As a perfectionist, I need to be reminded of this so very often! I always want everything that I do to be perfect, although I guess I’m doing a little better at it than I used to because I’m okay with things not being perfect, but certain things I always feel have to be perfect. As long as you make progress with anything, does it really have to be perfect?
This is so very true! Worship is one of the things that has helped me with my anxiety! Music in general has done that but worship especially helps with it!
This is a good reminder every time things get tough!
People don’t always listen to what you say but they always watch what you do. You live out your beliefs.
There are so many things that you can be “known” for but leaving a legacy of grace and kindness sounds like an amazing one.
I’m reminded of this whenever I feel like I’ve got more than I can handle. But I remember that God never gives us more than we can handle. You have your friends and your family watching and strangers looking at you and maybe you’re the one who’s supposed to set the example of moving a mountain that they are trying to move by themselves.
I’ve been into learning all I can about integrity since I’ve been wanting a more Biblical approach to authenticity and I’ve found that integrity and authenticity are linked together.
It’s human nature to feel guilt or shame for whatever it may be that’s making you feel like that, but through God’s grace, you will find that you are loved and cherished and never have to feel guilt or shame anymore.
It’s so difficult sometimes when you want to control everything in life, but I’ve found that if you just give everything up to God and remember that He’s in control you can see God working in everything that you do. It’s easier said than done, let me tell you from personal experience, but I’ve also seen God’s hand in a lot of things in my life. I just didn’t know it because I was focused on the wrong things or wouldn’t let go long enough to realize that He was in the midst of it all along.
Authenticity is hard to come by sometimes and sometimes authenticity is everywhere. The world sends so many confusing messages about this but one thing I’ve found is true: don’t let the world steal or rob you from the things that make you, you.
I love C.S. Lewis, and I love this quote about integrity.
It’s so easy to fall into the trap of pleasing the world around you but most of the time the world just has an opinion that isn’t always the nicest. Pay more attention to the Creator and you’ll find that you can relax more and more because He loves you just the way you are, and that’s how God made you!
This is one of those honest quotes that I was just drawn to. When it comes to friendships at least, it seems like there’s always someone else that’s closer to someone than me.
If you know me, then you know that I hate change. I despise it but it seriously just loves to follow me around. When I changed jobs, it was one of the scariest things I’ve done in a while. I had a routine and I knew what to expect, but jumping into something new was super scary. I love Fall for so many reasons, but the quote is right, it teaches us that change can be beautiful. It’s probably the one change that I look forward to each year.
I’m a highly sensitive person if I haven’t already shared this with you all, or if you’re new, and sometimes I feel like being soft and sensitive is such a curse. I feel like people see me as insensitive because I have to work so hard to keep my emotions in check sometimes. I hate crying in public and I only have one type of crying: the ugly cry, so when it’s emotional and it’s appropriate to cry I find myself fighting back tears because I won’t stop if I start. The company I work for just had an owner switch and that was really tough for only working there two months. I remember when they made the announcement and I did everything I could not to even think about crying while everyone else was in tears.
This is just one of those quotes that reads like a guide to life. Lol! It sounds silly to say that but it’s true! It’s short and sweet but it says exactly what it needs to say.
I know that this is a quote a lot of people say, but when I saw this I think of the song and the name is the writer that wrote the song that was such a massive hit for Tim McGraw.
Always stay humble and kind.
Well, that wraps up this post! I hope you all liked it! Some of my ramblings were probably super cheesy or whatever but I hope this gives you a little insight into my life and the things that I love.
Until next time,
